Game Design Project created in INFO 3152 Introduction to Game Design @ Cornell
Flight of Vanity is an immersive puzzle game design project developed in INFO 3152 Introduction to Game Design class at Cornell, where I collaborated with 7 individuals to bring this captivating game to life. My primary focus revolved around the creation of 2D assets, background art, and frame-by-frame animations as well as actively contributing to designing UX/UI assets and intricate level design for gameplay.

Preliminary Designs

Character & Game Elements Design
I worked as a character and environment artist and animator on this project. I brought creative vision and technical expertise to each brainstorm session. I helped draw frame by frame animations for Vanity, the main character, and the door. I also helped design and draw iterations of the background art.

UX/UI Design
I helped craft the game interface and various screen modes, ensuring an intuitive and visually appealing user experience. I illustrated UI elements, meticulously designing text and layout to elevate the cohesiveness of the overall look and feel of the game.

Level Design
My responsibilities encompass helping to design and implement level layouts and mechanics. I worked closely with the programmers to create and refine various aspects of the game environment, ensuring that it offers engaging and balanced challenges for players. Additionally, I played a role in shaping and fine-tuning the game mechanics to enhance the overall gameplay experience. Part of my duties also involves coordinating and conducting level testing with users to gather valuable feedback and insights. By distributing test versions of the game to users, I can observe how they interact with the levels and mechanics. This iterative approach ensures that the final product meets the highest standards of quality and delivers an enjoyable, immersive experience for players.
